Kenneth Lonergan to Direct His Medieval Play for Signature Theatre

Signature Theatre will present the world premiere of Medieval Play, written and directed by Kenneth Lonergan, to be performed in the End Stage Theatre of the company’s new Signature Center, May 15-June 24, with an opening on June 7.

In the play, two French mercenary knights set out on a quest for relative moral redemption against the classic comic background of late 14th century ecclesiastical politics.

Casting will be announced at a later date.

Lonergan’s previous plays include The Starry Messenger, This Is Our Youth, Lobby Hero, and The Waverly Gallery. He also wrote and directed the film, You Can Count on Me, for which he earned an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.
