Kara Klein to Replace Heather McFadden as Meg in Broadway’s Phantom of the Opera

Current Phantom of the Opera cast member Kara Klein will take over the role of Meg, replacing longtime cast member Heather McFadden in the musical’s Broadway production, at The Majestic Theatre beginning Monday, June 18.

Klein, currently in the Ballet Chorus, previously played Meg from March to December 2005. Her other credits include the Broadway production of Billy Elliot; the Encores! production of Bye, Bye Birdie; Beauty & the Beast at North Shore Music Theatre; and both New York and Denver engagements of the Radio City Christmas Spectacular.

Continuing in their roles with the New York Company are Hugh Panaro (The Phantom), Trista Moldovan (Christine), Kyle Barisich (Raoul), Aaron Galligan-Stierle (Monsieur André), Kevin Ligon (Monsieur Firmin), Michele McConnell (Carlotta), Cristin J. Hubbard (Madame Giry) and Christian Šebek (Piangi). At certain performances, Marni Raab plays Christine.

Based on the classic novel by Gaston Leroux, The Phantom of the Opera features music by Andrew Lloyd Webber, lyrics by Charles Hart (with additional lyrics by Richard Stilgoe), and book by Richard Stilgoe and Andrew Lloyd Webber. It has production design by the late Maria Björnson, lighting by Andrew Bridge, and sound by Martin Levan.
