Kail, McLaughlin, Waters, et al. Set for MTC’s 7@7 Series

Thomas Kail, Ellen McLaughlin, and Les Waters are among the artists who will participate in Manhattan Theatre Club’s Ernst C. Stiefel “7@7” Reading Series, formerly known as “6@6,” to run April 7-June 2.

The series will begin April 7 with Shoe Story by Ben Snyder, which will be directed by Kail. Next, MTC will present Calvin Berger, April 14, a musical re-imagining of Edmond Rostand’s Cyrano de Bergerac by Barry Wyner, directed by Josh Prince. Wisdom, April 21, is written by Simon Vinnicombe and will be directed by Sam Gold.

Willing by Amy Herzog, April 28, will be directed by Carolyn Cantor, and The Imprisonment of the Eye by Sam Marks, May 5, will be directed by Anne Kauffman. Fake, May 12, is written and directed by Eric Simonson, and the series will close on June 2, with Kissing the Floor by McLaughlin, a free adaptation of Sophocles’ Antigone that will be directed by Waters.
