Hear what it was like to work with Yul Brynner, Carol Channing, David Merrick, and more.

Former Broadway publicist Joshua Ellis will tell all in a new solo show he has written.

Former Broadway publicist Joshua Ellis will share years' worth of dirt on the theater industry in his new solo show, Call My Publicist! – The Starry Education of a Broadway Press Agent, to be given a premiere reading April 8 at the York Theatre Company. Open to the public, with a suggested donation of $5, the evening is directed by Gretchen Cryer.

Ellis worked with the likes of Barry Manilow, Yul Brynner, Carol Channing, Stephen Sondheim, Lena Horne, David Merrick, Jerry Orbach, Sir Trevor Nunn, Eartha Kitt, Eva Le Gallienne, and Sandy Duncan, and publicized the original Broadway productions of 42nd Street, The Elephant Man, and many others. Simultaneously, he was the press representative for Roundabout Theatre Company, and also worked with Ringling Bros. and Barnum & Bailey Circus.

Director Cryer is a playwright, actress, and lyricist best known for her musical I'm Getting My Act Together and Taking It on the Road, which played 1,000 performances off-Broadway. She is also the coauthor of the musicals The Last Sweet Days of Isaac and Still Getting My Act Together.
