Classic Stage Company has announced casting for Double Falsehood, to run March 11-April 3. Brian Kulick will direct the production.

The play, written by Lewis Theobald, is believed to be an adaptation of the long lost play Cardenio by William Shakespeare and John Fletcher. The play focuses on a man’s conquests of a number of women in the Spanish province of Anadulsia.

The company will feature Clayton Apgar, Jon DeVries, Bryce Gill, Phillip Goodwin, Slate Holmgren, Mackenzie Meehan, and Hayley Treider.

The creative team will include Oana Botez-Ban (scenic and costume design), Brian H. Scott (lighting design), and Christian Frederickson (original music and sound design).

In addition, as previously announced, Shakespeare scholar Harold Bloom will take part in a public discussion about Shakespeare’s late collaborations with John Fletcher on February 7.

Additional participating scholars will appear following Saturday matinee performances (5pm) and are offered free to ticket holders. Participants include James Shapiro and David Kastan on March 19; Stephen Greenblatt on March 26; and Brean Hammond on April 2.
