Johnny and the Sprites Benefit for BC/EFA Cancelled

Tony Award nominee John Tartaglia’s planned benefit for Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDSJohnny and the Sprites Live – A Spofulous Broadway Concert, which had been scheduled for Sunday, February 3 at Town Hall, has been cancelled. According to BC/EFA’s website, they expect to present the show for the 2008 holidays.

The concert was to be based on the Playhouse Disney television series of the same name, and written by Tartaglia and directed and choreographed by Donna Drake, with musical direction by Michael Patrick Walker. Tartaglia received a 2004 Tony Award nomination for his performance as Princeton and Rod in Avenue Q, and later starred in the show’s Las Vegas production.
