Remy Auberjonois, Michael Countryman, David Furr, John Pankow, Charlotte Parry, and David Pittu will star in Manhattan Theatre Club’s New York premiere of Bill Cain’s new play, Equivocation, to be directed by Tony Award winner Garry Hynes. The production will play New York City Center – Stage I, February 9-March 28, with an opening on March 2.

The play is set in 1605 England and begins when King James’ right hand man (Pittu) commissions William Shakespeare (Pankow) to write a new play about the Gunpowder Plot, a recent failed attempt to blow up Parliament and the Monarchy.

The production team will include Francis O’Connor (scenic & costume design), David Weiner (lighting design), David Van Tieghem & Brandon Wolcott (sound design), and David Brimmer (fight direction).
