The Trevor Project announced today that comedian and talk show host John Oliver is set to emcee the 2017 TrevorLIVE New York gala, to be held June 19 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel Times Square. Previously announced LGBTQ activist Edie Windsor will receive the Trevor Project's Icon Award and the lead singer of Imagine Dragons, Dan Reynolds, will be honored with the Trevor Hero Award. Additionally, YouTube star Randy Rainbow will act as the "Voice of God" — the night's master of ceremonies.

Oliver first rose to stardom in 2006 when he joined The Daily Show With Jon Stewart as the senior British correspondent. After gaining recognition, HBO announced in 2013 that Oliver would be getting his own late-night show. Since its start in 2014, Last Week Tonight has received widespread critical acclaim. In 2016, it earned a Primetime Emmy Award.

The Trevor Project is the nation's only nonprofit crisis intervention and suicide prevention organization focused on ending suicide among LGBTQ youth. Additional guests set to attend the June 19 event include Imagine Dragons, Shoshana Bean, Barrett Pall, BD Wong, Brandon Uranowitz, Brendan Monaghan, Chely Wright, Dana Goldberg, Denis O'Hare, EJ Johnson, Eli Tokash, Eric Rutherford, Freema Agyeman, Gideon Glick, Jackie Cruz, James Lecesne, Jeremy Jordan, Lina Bradford, Mark Herman, Mark Myars, Mark Woods, Max Emerson, Mila Jam, Omar Sharif Jr., Parker Hurley, Peggy Rajski, Ryan Jordan Santana, Taye Diggs, Tim Davis, and Tyler Glenn.
