Stage and film star John C. Reilly will appear in Heather Woodbury’s Tale of 2Cities: An American Joyride on Multiple Tracks at P.S. 122 from October 12 through 29.

The piece, to be presented in two parts at separate performances, is billed as a “tale of urban erasure — and renewal — in the wake of the Brooklyn Dodgers’ move to L.A.” Woodbury is the winner of the inaugural Spalding Gray award. Reilly played Stanley Kowalski in the 2005 Broadway revival of A Streetcar Named Desire. He was previously seen on Broadway in True West and The Grapes of Wrath, and he played the role of Amos Hart in the wildly successful movie version of the musical Chicago. The most recent of the many films in which he has appeared include Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, A Prairie Home Companion, The Aviator, and The Hours.

Among the other shows to be presented at P.S. 122 in the coming months are Tower of Babel, an “interactive, full immersion theatre experience [that] transcends the boundaries of language and transforms the upstairs theatre into an acoustic dreamscape”; Coco Fusco’s A Room of One’s Own: Women and Power in the New America; BAiT (Buenos Aires in Translation), an international collaboration that brings four playwrights from Buenos Aires together with four U.S.-based directors; Rob Roth and Theo Kogan’s Screen Test, a video installation/rock show; and Theatre Couture’s Carrie: A Period Piece, described as “an over-the-top staging of Stephen King’s classic tale of high school horror.”
