Joel Grey Offers an Evening of Cabaret to Benefit Bay Street Theatre

Joel Grey, the actor who won a Tony Award for his performance as the Emcee in the original Broadway production of Cabaret, will be presenting his own cabaret as a benefit for the Bay Street Theatre on Saturday, October 12. In "Joel Grey -- The Road to Cabaret," he will offer an evening of music and conversation, including a Q&A session. There will be a reception in the theater's lobby following the performance.

Grey gained praise for his role of Amos Hart in the Broadway revival of another Kander and Ebb musical, Chicago. His other stage credits include the leads in George M, Goodtime Charley, and The Grand Tour. In addition to his Academy Award-winning recreation of his Emcee role in the film version of Cabaret, Grey has appeared on screen in Dancer in the Dark, Kafka, and The Seven Percent Solution. He has had frequent guest and recurring roles on television in such shows as Brooklyn Bridge, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Touched by an Angel.

"Joel Grey -- The Road to Cabaret" will be performed at 8pm on October 12. Tickets to the benefit are $100 per person and can be purchased by calling Julie Fitzgerald at 631-725-0818.
