Joel Blum will star in a reading of the Broadway-bound musical, Lorenzo, which will include in its cast Kathy Calahan, Bradley Dean (as Lorenzo), Kimberly Reid Dunbar, Vanessa Jones, Don Mayo, Trish Rapier, Steve Sterner, and Chris Zelno. The reading will take place at the Players Theatre November 14-15.

Lorenzo, which features music by Judd Woldin and lyrics by Richard Engquist, tells the exciting true story of Lorenzo Da Ponte. Leaving his Italian hometown, Da Ponte travels the great cities of Europe and finds himself in various mishaps — being driven out of Venice by furious husbands, fleeing Vienna for his politics, escaping debtor’s prison in London — until he lands in New York as the first professor of Italian at Columbia University.

Blum received Tony Award nominations for his work in Show Boat and Steel Pier. He most recently appeared on Broadway in After the Night and the Music with the Manhattan Theater Club.

Seats are available to the public at 6pm prior to each reading.
