JoBeth Williams to Headline Pasadena Playhouse’s The Night Is a Child

Casting has been announced for the Pasadena Playhouse’s production of Charles Randolph-Wright’s The Night Is a Child, which will begin performances on August 28. The production, which will open officially on September 4, will be directed by Sheldon Epps, the Playhouse’s artistic director.

The work draws on magical realism, Samba, and the cultural pulse of Brazil to tell the tale of one mother and her family, as they seek understanding, redemption and acceptance after a tragedy leaves them torn apart. The show premiered at the Milwaukee Repertory Theatre.

The cast will feature JoBeth Williams,, Monette Magrath, Armando McClain, Maceo Oliver, Tyler Pierce, and Sybyl Walker.
