Watch Jennifer Hudson Sing "I'm Here" From The Color Purple

Hudson’s performance pays tribute to the musical’s producer, Oprah Winfrey.

Earlier today, it was reported that Oscar- and Grammy-winning performer Jennifer Hudson might be making her Broadway debut this fall in a revival of the musical The Color Purple. While she's never been on Broadway, Hudson is no stranger to the show, having sung the anthem-style eleven-o'clock number "I'm Here" at the 2010 Kennedy Center Honors as a tribute to Oprah Winfrey, the musical's longtime coproducer and star of the original film.

The Color Purple features music and lyrics by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis, and Stephen Bray, and Hudson's rendition of their song "I'm Here" is sure to give you goosebumps. Give it a listen below.
