Jason Hite, Taylor Trensch to Star in Off-Broadway Musical Bare

Complete casting has been announced for the Off-Broadway production of the musical Bare, to play New World Stages beginning Monday, November 19 with an opening on Sunday, December 2. Stafford Arima will direct.

The musical is set in a co-ed Catholic boarding school, and explores the subject of teens exposed to the issues of identity, sexuality and religion.

Jason Hite and Taylor Trensch lead the cast as Peter and Jason, who embark upon a closeted love affair that has unexpected consequences. The cast will also feature Elizabeth Judd (Ivy), Gerard Canonico (Matt), Jerold E. Solomon (Father Mike), Barrett Wilbert Weed (Nadia), Missi Pyle (Sister Joan), Casey Garvin (Zack), Ariana Groover (Vanessa), Sara Kapner (Madison), Nick Laughlin (Swing), Alice Lee (Diane), Megan Lewis (Swing), Justin Gregory Lopez (Beto), Michael Tacconi (Nick) and Alex Wyse (Alan).

Bare features music by Damon Intrabartolo and book & lyrics by Jon Hartmere. Additional songs are by Hartmere and Lynne Shankel, the latter of whom serves as musical supervisor and arranger.

The creative team will also include Travis Wall (choreographer), Donyale Werle (scenic designer), Tristan Raines (costume designer), Howell Binkley (lighting designer), and Keith Caggiano (sound designer).
