Jack Noseworthy, Ellen Crawford, et al. Set for Musical Version of Great Expectations

Jack Noseworthy will star as Pip in the world premiere of Great Expectations: A New Musical, to be presented at Utah Shakespearean Festival, in the Randall L. Jones Theatre, July 1-August 28. Jules Aaron will direct.

Adapted by Margaret Hoorneman from the novel by Charles Dickens, the musical will feature a book by Brian VanDerWilt and Steve Lozier, music by Richard Winzeler, and lyrics by Steve Lane. The show follows the adventures of young Pip and his struggles and triumphs to find his place in the world.

The cast will also include David Barrus as Joe Gargery, Ellen Crawford as Miss Havisham, Melinda Pfundstein as Biddy, Max Robinson as Magwitch, Jeff Steitzer as Pumblechook/Wemmick, and Emily Trask as Estella.

Noseworthy’s Broadway credits include Sweet Smell of Success, Jerome Robbins’ Broadway, and A Chorus Line. His other theater credits include the title role in Pippin at Paper Mill Playhouse. Film and television credits include Poster Boy, U-571, and Judging Amy. The actor will also be playing the role of Bigley in Pride and Prejudice this summer at Utah Shakespearean Festival.
