It Shoulda Been You, a long-gestating musical that ran at the George Street Playhouse in 2011, is expected to move to Broadway later this season, according to an Equity casting notice. The show is aiming to celebrate its opening night on March 26, with the first rehearsal on or about January 13.

Tony and Emmy winner David Hyde Pierce directs the production, which features a book and lyrics by his husband, Brian Hargrove, and music by Barbara Anselmi. The musical explores what happens when an interfaith wedding spins out of control.

The George Street company was led by Tyne Daly, Edward Hibbert, Harriet Harris, and Richard Kline, alongside Howard McGillin, Matthew Hydzik, Tom Deckman, Carla Duren, Jessica Hershberg, Curtis Holbrook, Lisa Howard, Mylinda Hull, and David Josefsberg.

The creative team is led by Noah Racey (choreography) and David Loud (musical direction).

No official information about the production or its timeline has been announced. Daryl Roth and Scott Landis are the lead producers.
