Fiasco Theater's new off-Broadway revival of Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine's musical Into the Woods celebrated its opening night at Roundabout Theatre Company's Laura Pels Theatre on January 22. The production, which began previews December 18, originated at the McCarter Theatre Center in New Jersey.

This minimalist rendering of the fairy tale-inspired musical is directed by Noah Brody and Ben Steinfeld, who also appear in the show. Fiasco is known for its acclaimed small-scale revivals of Shakespeare's plays Cymbeline and Measure for Measure.

Into the Woods stars Jessie Austrian as Baker’s Wife; Brody as Lucinda, Wolf, and Cinderella’s Prince; Paul L. Coffey as Mysterious Man; Andy Grotelueschen as Milky White, Florinda, and Rapunzel’s Prince; Liz Hayes as Cinderella’s Stepmother and Jack’s Mother; Claire Karpen as Cinderella and Granny; Jennifer Mudge as Witch; Patrick Mulryan as Jack and Steward; Steinfeld as Baker; and Emily Young as Little Red Riding Hood and Rapunzel.
