Don't Tell Mama Extends Joe Iconis and Lauren Marcus Cabaret Love Letter

The evening pays tribute to Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash.

Don't Tell Mama has added an additional performance of the new cabarat show Love Letter: Joe Iconis & Lauren Marcus Do Johnny Cash & June Carter Cash on Saturday, March 25, at 3pm. The work debuted on March 19 and will also play a 7:30pm show on March 20.

The show is described as follows: "Acclaimed writer-performers and real-life married couple Joe Iconis and Lauren Marcus take on Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash in this new show featuring songs made famous by and inspired by the coolest couple in outlaw country. This husband and wife duo will tackle romantic collaborations, artistic relationships, volatile partnerships, autoharps, and Jackson. Featuring original songs in addition to a host of re-imagined Cash/Carter classics, the evening is a fiery love letter from one pair of mavericks to another." It is directed by Max Friedman and also features Seth Eliser and Ian Kagey.

Iconis is the Drama Desk Award-nominated writer of musicals including Bloodsong of Love, The Black Suits, Be More Chill, and Broadway Bounty Hunter. As a writer, Marcus is the author of The Meanest Birthday Girl and she has appeared in Be More Chill, Merrily We Roll Along, and The Plant That Ate Dirty Socks
