Hunter Foster and Elizabeth Stanley will join Eddie Clendening, Lance Guest, Levi Kreis, and Rob Lyons in the Broadway production of Million Dollar Quartet, which will play Broadway’s Nederlander Theatre, beginning March 13, with an opening night set for April 11. Eric Schaeffer will direct.

The show was inspired by the famed 1956 recording session that brought together four of the most legendary figures in the history of rock ‘n’ roll — Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, and Elvis Presley. The show includes numerous hits from these music legends, including “Blue Suede Shoes,” “Fever,” “Sixteen Tons,” “Who Do You Love?,” “Great Balls of Fire,” “Riders in the Sky,” “I Walk the Line,” “Folsom Prison Blues,” and “Whole Lotta’ Shakin’ Goin’ On.”

The musical features a book by Colin Escott and Floyd Mutrux, and was originally directed and conceived by Mutrux. The design team will include Derek McLane (scenic design), Howell Binkley (lighting design), Jane Greenwood (costume design), Kai Harada (sound design), and Chuck Mead (musical arrangements and supervision).

Clendening (Elvis Presley), Guest (Johnny Cash), Kreis (Jerry Lee Lewis), and Lyons (Carl Perkins) originated their roles in the Chicago production of the musical, and will all be making their Broadway debuts. Foster will play legendary music producer Sam Phillips, while Stanley will play Dyanne, a woman who arrives at Sun Records with Elvis on the night of the recording session.

In related news, the Chicago production of Million Dollar Quartet, at the Apollo Theater, has announced its new cast, which will begin performances on February 3. The company will star David Lago (Elvis Presley), Lance Lipinsky (Jerry Lee Lewis), Gabe Bowling (Carl Perkins), and Sean Sullivan (Johnny Cash), with Tim Decker (Sam Phillips), Kelly Lamont (Dyanne), Billy Shaffer (Fluke/Drummer), and Chuck Zayas (Jay Perkins/Bass).
