High School Musical, West Side Story, et al. to Be Part of Barrington Stage Company’s 2007 Season

Productions of Disney’s High School Musical and West Side Story will be part of the Barrington Stage Company’s 2007 season.

The Pittsfield, Massachusetts-based company will begin its season with Becky Mode’s solo show Fully Committed, about a harried restaurant employee, February 7-18 at the Berkshire Museum. Next up, at a venue still to be announced, will be Jeffrey Hatcher’s two-hander A Picasso, about an art expert recruited by the Nazis for a nefarious task.

The next three shows will be presented at Barrington’s mainstage space at 30 Union Street: West Side Story, the beloved Leonard Bernstein-Stephen Sondheim-Arthur Laurents musical (June 13-July 14); Peter Shaffer’s Black Comedy (July 19-August 4); and Anton Chekhov’s Uncle Vanya (August 9-26). In addition, the company will present the stage version of Disney’s High School Musical, based on the top-rated television movie, at the First Christ Church of Pittsfield (July 11-August 12).
