The Criterion Collection will release a newly remastered edition of the Hedwig and the Angry Inch film on DVD and Blu-ray on June 25.

The new 4K digital restoration, supervised by director John Cameron Mitchell and cinematographer Frank DeMarco, will be released with 5.1 surround DTS-HD Master Audio soundtrack on the Blu-ray. Special features include a new conversation with Mitchell, DeMarco, composer and lyricist Stephen Trask, costar Miriam Shor, and others; a 2003 documentary tracing the development of the project; deleted scenes; the original trailer; and more.

Adapted from Mitchell and Trask's musical of the same title, Hedwig and the Angry Inch tells the story of "internationally ignored song stylist" Hedwig Robinson. She is out to set the record straight about her life, her loves, and the botched operation that left her with that "angry inch."
