Heather Henderson has been named the new managing director of Abdingdon Theatre Company. She replaces Samuel J. Bellinger, who has left the theater to take a position at Second Stage Theatre.

Henderson has been a member of the Abingdon staff for 18 months, serving as the company’s Director of Development. Prior to her position with the theater, she worked in the financial sector, primarily acting as a representative of the Private Banking Group for Citibank. She also held positions at UBS Financial Services and worked as a financial advisor at Merrill Lynch.

Abingdon Theatre Company is currently producing the world premiere of Elisabeth Karlin’s Bodega Bay, which will run January 25 – February 17. The piece is just one of more than 75 new American plays the company has produced in its 20-year history.
