Hair, the classic musical by James Rado, Gerome Ragni, and Galt MacDermot, will be NBC's 2019 musical broadcast, presented on an unspecified date next spring. Hair Live will be executive produced by Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who have executive produced each of NBC's live musicals since The Sound of Music.

With book and lyrics by Rado and Ragni, and music by MacDermot, Hair features a score including musical numbers such as "Let the Sun Shine In," "Aquarius," "Hair," and "Good Morning Starshine."

The musical premiered at the Public Theater in 1967 and tells the story of a group of hopeful, free-spirited young people who advocate a lifestyle of pacifism and free love in a society riddled with intolerance and brutality during the Vietnam War.
