Grant Bowler and Lindsay Lohan to Star in Lifetime’s Liz & Dick Movie

Grant Bowler will play Richard Burton and Lindsay Lohan will play stage and screen legend Elizabeth Taylor in the Lifetime Original Movie Liz & Dick, according to Deadline.com. Christopher Monger is writing the script for the project.

The movie will center on the love affair between Taylor and Richard Burton, which was played out on the world stage from the time they met on the set of the major motion picture Cleopatra, left their respective spouses, married and divorced, only to remarry and divorce once again.

Taylor and Burton co-starred on Broadway following their second divorce, in the 1983 revival of Noel Coward’s Private Lives. Her other stage credits include The Little Foxes, for which she received a Tony Award nomination, as well as The Corn Is Green. He earned a Tony Award for his performance in Camelot and won a Special Tony Award. Among his other Broadway credits are Tony-nominated turns in Time Remembered and Hamlet.


Among their other films together is the film version of Edward Albee’s Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?, for which Taylor won her second Academy Award, as well as The Sandpiper, Doctor Faustus and The Taming of the Shrew.
