Thank You for Being a Friend, the off-Broadway Golden Girls musical, will end its run at The Laurie Beechman Theatre on May 30. This unauthorized musical parody inspired by the beloved TV sitcom features book, music, and lyrics by Nick Brennan and Luke Jones. Brennan also directs.

In Thank You for Being a Friend four women over 60 are spending their golden years together in a wicker-filled bungalow in Miami. But when gay pop superstar Ricky Martin moves in next door, his loud outdoor sex parties keep the cheesecake-loving retirees awake. The score is eventually settled at the annual Shady Oaks Retirement Home Talent Show.

This newly revised production features original cast members Chad Ryan, Luke Jones, and Nick Brennan with newcomers John De Los Santos and Adrian Rifat. The production team features Cisco Cardanez (assistant director/stage manager), John De Los Santos (choreographer), Luke Jones (set design), Timothy Hart (lighting), Jessa-Raye Court (costumes), Nancy Doan (wigs), and Julianne B. Merrill (sound).
