Gavin Lee to Rejoin Broadway’s Mary Poppins on August 24

Gavin Lee, who originated the role of Bert in Broadway’s Mary Poppins will rejoin the company on Tuesday, August 24. He is replacing Christian Borle.

The cast currently features Laura Michelle Kelly in the title role, along with Karl Kenzler (Mr. Banks), Megan Osterhaus (Mrs. Banks), Ann Arvia (Bird Woman), Mark Price (Robertson Ay), and Ruth Gottschall (Miss Andrew), and Jonathan Freeman (Admiral Boom). Catherine Missal, Rachel Resheff, and Rozi Baker alternate as Jane Banks; and Christopher Flaim, David Gabriel Lerner, and Ethen Haberfield alternate as Michael Banks.

Lee originated the role in the London production, for which he received an Olivier Award nomination. For his Broadway performance, he received a Tony Award nomination and a Drama Desk Award. He has played the role of Bert in the show’s national tour since March 2009.
