Gallery Players Announces Casting for A Man of No Importance

Gallery Players has announced casting for A Man of No Importance, to run January 28 – February 19. Hans Friedrichs will direct the production, which will have musical staging by Christine O’Grady and musical direction by Julianne Merrill.

With music by Stephen Flaherty, lyrics by Lynn Ahrens, and a book by Terrence McNally, the play, set in Dublin in 1964, centers on a bus conductor who is struggling with a secret he can’t even admit to himself: he is gay. When he’s not driving his route, he channels his energies into directing theatrical productions for a local theater group, but find that he must ultimately, come to terms with his identity as well as the bigotry of others.

The company will feature Renee Claire Bergeron, Eric Folks, Rachel Green, Greg Horton, Julianne Katz, Adam Kee, Lorinne Lampert, Eric William Love, Lesley McKinnell, Jake Mendes, Eric Morris, Sean Patrick Murtagh, Charlie Owens, John Weigand, Megan Opalinski, Danny Randerson, and Spencer Robinson.

The creative team will include scenic designer Kate Rance, costume designer Sarah Cogan, lighting designer Dan Jobbins, sound designer Julian Evans, and video/projection designer Daniel Heffernan .
