Reed Birney, Justin Chatwin, Michael Cullen, and Elizabeth Marvel will star in the Rattlestick Playwrights Theatre production of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa’s Dark Matters, November 10-December 22. The show, to be directed by Trip Cullman, will open officially on November 20.

Among Aguirre-Sacasa’s other plays are Based on a Totally True Story, The Muckle Man, The Velvet Sky, and Golden Age.

The creative team of the Rattlestick production includes Wilson Chin (sets), Katherine Roth (costumes), Matt Richards (lighting), and Michael Friedman and Shane Retting (sound and music). Among Cullman’s many Off-Broadway credits are Dog Sees God, The Wooden Breeks, Manic Flight Reaction, and Swimming in the Shallows.

Birney has appeared in such plays as Bug, Homebody/Kabul, and Gemini. Chatwin, who will make his New York stage debut in Dark Matters, was seen in the film War of the Worlds. Cullen won a Drama Desk Award for his work in Cobb and also co-starred in Bug. Marvel’s Broadway credits include Seascape, An American Daughter, and Taking Sides; she won Obie Awards for her work in A Streetcar Named Desire and Hedda Gabler at the New York Theatre Workshop.
