Full Cast Announced for Young Jean Lee’s The Shipment

Casting has been announced for the New York premiere of The Shipment, Young Jean Lee’s latest work with her theater company set to open at The Kitchen, January 8-24. Lee will direct the cast of five.

Originally presented at the Wexner Center for the Arts in Columbus, Ohio, the piece addresses racist attitudes towards black people, as well as the history of black Americans in entertainment. The all-black cast will feature Mikeah Earnest Jennings, Okieriete Onaodowan, Prentice Onayemi, Douglas Scott Streater, and Amelia Workman.

The Obie Award winner’s other works include CHURCH, Songs of the Dragons Flying to Heaven, Pullman, WA, The Appeal, and Groundwork of the Metaphysic of Morals.
