Fritz Weaver and Michael Stuhlbarg Head Cast of Atlantic's The Voysey Inheritance
The play focuses on an upper middle class family that goes to pieces after it is revealed that the patriarch amassed the family fortune through embezzlement. It was originally written by Harley Granville-Barker in 1905; this adaptation, by Atlantic co-founder David Mamet, had its world premiere at San Francisco's American Conservatory Theatre last year.
The cast of the Atlantic production also includes Rachel Black, Christopher Duva, Steven Goldstein, Katharine Powell, Judith Roberts, Geddeth Smith, Samantha Soule, Todd Weeks, and C.J. Wilson. The creative team includes Derek McLane (sets), Gregory Gale (costumes), Jeff Croiter (lighting), and Fitz Patton (sound).
Weaver won a Tony Award for Child's Play and received a Tony nomination for The Chalk Garden. Among his numerous New York stage credits are The White Devil, All American, Baker Street, Absurd Person Singular, Angels Fall, and Trying. Stuhlbarg received a Drama Desk Award and a Tony nomination for his work in The Pillowman. He was also seen in such shows as The Invention of Love, Cabaret, Measure for Pleasure, The Mysteries, and Cymbeline.
