Frederick Weller has replaced Jason Patric in the MCC Theatre production of Neil LaBute’s new play In a Dark Dark House, which will run May 16-June 23 at the Lucille Lortel Theater. The show, which will officially open on June 7, is directed by Carolyn Cantor. The reason for the change was announced as creative differences.

The play co-stars Ron Livingston and Louisa Krause. It concerns two brothers who must deal with their traumatic past. The production team includes Beowulf Boritt (sets), Jenny Mannis (costumes), Ben Stanton (lighting), and Rob Kaplowitz (sound and original music).

Weller just received a Drama Desk Award nomination for his work in Some Men, and previously won a Drama Desk Award as a member of the ensemble of Glengarry Glen Ross. His numerous other New York stage credits include Seascape, The Little Foxes, Take Me Out, and Mother Courage and Her Children.
