Former Phantom of the Opera star Franc D'Ambrosio has had to cancel his scheduled New York City appearances next week due to a case of tracheitis. The singer is under doctor's orders not to perform for another two to three weeks, according to a spokesperson.

D'Ambrosio's first Manhattan appearance was to be at Tower Records on September 20 as part of its popular Any Wednesday series. Instead, the store will host Miles Phillips and Jonathan Rayson. Phillips is a MAC Award-winning entertainer, while Rayson is a musical theater star, who is currently appearing in the NYMF production of The Children. He starred earlier this summer as Barnaby in the Paper Mill Playhouse production of Hello Dolly, and was in the Broadway productions of A Year With Frog and Toad and Little Shop of Horrors. Both performers have recently released CDs.

D'Ambrosio was scheduled to play the Metropolitan Room, September 21-24. According to the club's web site, jazz singer Mary Foster Conklin will appear there on September 21, while comedian Nancy Witter will play the room the following night.
