Fisher, Sewell, Turner, et al. Win Critics Circle Theatre Awards
Tom Stoppard's Rock 'N' Roll was named Best Play and Rufus Sewell took the award for Best Actor for his performance in that show. Caroline, or Change, written by Tony Kushner and Jeanine Tesori, won the Peter Hepple Award for Best New Musical. Nina Raine was named Most Promising Playwright for Rabbit.
Kathleen Turner was named Best Actress for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?. The Jack Tinker Award for Most Promising Newcomer was shared by Sound of Music star Connie Fisher and Andrew Garfield, who appeared in three shows: Beautiful Thing, Burn/Chatroom/Citizenship, and The Overwhelming.
