Farah Alvin will star in the title role of One Night with Fanny Brice, to be presented Off-Broadway at St. Luke’s Theatre, with previews beginning March 16 and an opening set for April 3. This new musical play is written, arranged, and directed by Chip Deffaa, with choreography by Justin Boccitto and musical direction by Richard Danley.

The show chronicles Fanny Brice’s rise from rather humble origins to become an internationally popular entertainer and the highest paid American singing comedienne – a Ziegfeld star equally effective whether putting over a broadly comic number or a dramatic torch song. The musical features many of the songs Brice made famous, including “Rose of Washington Square,” “My Man” and “Second Hand Rose.”

Alvin was nominated for a Drama Desk Award for The Marvelous Wonderettes, with other credits including Grease, Nine, Saturday Night Fever, and The Look of Love.
