Fanny Brice, Eddie Cantor, Al Jolson, et al. Featured on Masterworks Broadway’s Originals Release

Originals – Musical Comedy 1909-1935 will be the first release from Masterworks Broadway in 2011. The 16-track compilation will be available on digital services and as discs-on-demand beginning January 18.

The album culls together performances by artists such as Fanny Brice, Eddie Cantor, Al Jolson, Beatrice Lillie, Helen Morgan, and Eleanor Powell. Among the songs on the recording are “You’re the Top,” “You and the Night and the Music,” “What a Wonderful World,” “Second Hand Rose,” and “Sometimes I’m Happy.”
