F. Murray Abraham, Lucas Hall, Kate MacCluggage, Tom Nelis et al. Set for TFANA Tour of Merchant of Venice

Complete casting has been announced for the Theatre for a New Audience’s tour of its widely acclaimed 2007 production of The Merchant of Venice, which will play a New York engagement at Pace University’s Schimmel Center for the Arts, February 27-March 13, with an opening on March 4. Darko Tresnjak has directed the production.

In addition to the previously reported F. Murray Abraham as Shylock, the principal cast will include Kate MacCluggage as Portia, Lucas Hall as Bassanio, Melissa Miller as Jessica, Vince Nappo as Lorenzo, Tom Nelis as Antonio, and Christen Simon as Nerissa.

The company will also feature Andrew Dahl as Balthazar, Grant Goodman as Solanio, Christopher Randolph as Aaragon, the Duke and Tubal, Matthew Schneck as Solerio, Ted Schneider as Gratiano, Raphael Nash Thompson as Morocco and Jacob Ming-Trent as Launcelot Gobbo.

The design team will include John Lee Beatty (sets), David Weiner (lights), Linda Cho (costumes), Jane Shaw (sound), and Matthew Myhrum (video).

The national tour will continue with stops at the Bank of America Theatre in Chicago (March 16-27), the Cutler Majestic Theatre in Boston (March 29-April 10), and the Eli & Edythe Broad Stage in Santa Monica (April 14-24).
