Dracula, The Musical Delays Start of Previews Again; First Performance Now Scheduled for Friday, July 30

Directed by Des McAnuff and choreographed by Mindy Cooper, the production was originally scheduled to begin previews on July 19 and to open officially on Monday, August 16, but the preview start date has been pushed back several times and the opening date has been re-set for Thursday, August 19. According to a spokesperson for the production, the cause for the most recent delay in previews was a water leak in the theater, which “threw off the schedule.”

Based on the classic novel by Bram Stoker, Dracula stars Tom Hewitt in the title role and Melissa Errico as Mina Murray. Featured in the show are Stephen McKinley Henderson, Don Stephenson, Darren Ritchie, and Kelli O’Hara. The design team includes Heidi Ettinger (sets), Catherine Zuber (costumes), Howell Binkley (lighting), and ACME Sound Partners (sound). The production has aerial staging by Rob Besserer, with Flying by Foy. Constantine Kitsopoulos is Dracula‘s musical director.
