Dominique Morisseau Named 2012-13 PoNY Fellow logo
Playwrights of New York and the Lark Play Development Center have announced that Dominique Morisseau is the recipient of the 2012-2013 Playwrights of New York (PoNY) Fellowship.

Dominique Morisseau's play Detroit '67 will receive a world premiere in the 2012-2013 season of the Public Theater and the Classical Theatre of Harlem. In September, her play Sunset Baby will have its world premiere at the Gate Theatre in London. Morisseau's first play, Follow Me To Nellie's, was produced at Premiere Stages in July 2011.

As the 2012-2013 PoNY Fellow, Morisseau will receive housing in midtown Manhattan for one year, a living stipend, and artistic support at the Lark, including participation in the prestigious Playwrights' Workshop led by Arthur Kopit and advised by such playwrights as Tina Howe, David Henry Hwang, Theresa Rebeck, and Doug Wright.

In related news, this year PoNY will will also be launching PoNY 2.0, which includes new partnerships and opportunities exclusively for all new and past PoNY recipients. The new program will also provide more opportunities for its fellow's work to be seen in front of audiences by forming collaborations with American Repertory Theater at Harvard University and Labyrinth Theater Company in New York City. In addition, the fellowship now includes access to The PoNY Express Fund, which has been established to allow each PoNY Fellow the chance to pursue opportunities that would further advance his or her career.
