The Sopranos's Uncle Junior, Dominic Chianese, Shows Off His Musical Side in Concert

Watch the stage veteran perform an old-school Italian melody as he previews his 54 Below debut.

"I had to learn how to act," Dominic Chianese says. "But music came naturally. Singing came naturally." Chianese, best known for his performance as mafioso Corrado "Uncle Junior" on HBO's The Sopranos, will show off his musical side at 54 Below on October 24, when he presents his cabaret show, Neopolitan Songs Grandfather Taught Me. "I've always been musical," he notes. "Music was more important to me."

He calls the show a mixed bag. "I'll be doing songs from the forties, fifties, and sixties — composers like Harold Arlen and Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen," Chianese adds, "and several Italian songs from the early 1900s." These are the tunes his grandfather taught him. "They're all Neopolitan songs."
