Dixie Carter and Mia Dillon to Star in Alley’s Arsenic and Old Lace

Dixie Carter and Mia Dillon will play Abby and Martha Brewster in the Alley Theater’s production of Joseph Kesselring’s classic comedy Arsenic and Old Lace, October 5-November 4. The production, which will officially open on October 10, will be directed by Gregory Boyd.

The cast will also include James Belcher as Teddy Brewster, James Black as Jonathan Brewster, Elizabeth Heflin as Elaine Harper, Paul Hope as Officer O’Hara, Chris Hutchison as Officer Klein, Charles Krohn as Reverend Harper/Lieutenant Rooney, Colin McPhillamy as Mr. Gibbs/Mr. Witherspoon, David Rainey as Officer Brophy, John Tyson as Dr. Einstein, and Todd Waite as Mortimer Brewster. The creative team includes Hugh Landwehr (sets), Judith Dolan (costumes), Pat Collins (lighting), and Joe Pino (sound).

Carter’s Broadway credits include Thoroughly Modern Millie, Master Class, and Pal Joey. She has previously appeared at the Alley in Be My Baby with her husband, Hal Holbrook. Carter is well known for her television work on Desperate Housewives, Designing Women, and Family Law. Dillon received a Tony Award nomination for Crimes of the Heart and has also appeared on Broadway in Our Town, Hay Fever, The Miser, and Da. She recently appeared Off-Broadway with her husband, Keir Dullea, in the play Strings.
