According to American Theatre magazine, the most performed play in the country during the upcoming 2013-2014 theater season will be David Ives' Venus in Fur. When it played on Broadway in 2011-2012, this sexy comedy starred Hugh Dancy and Nina Arianda, who won a Tony for her performance.

Venus in Fur follows a talented young actress who is determined to land the lead in a new play based on the classic erotic novel Venus in Fur. Her emotionally charged audition for the gifted but demanding playwright/director becomes an electrifying game of cat and mouse that blurs the lines between fantasy and reality.

The runners-up for the title of most performed play will be Bruce Norris' Clybourne Park, David Lindsay-Abaire's Good People, and Jon Robin Baitz's Other Desert Cities.
