Daphne Rubin-Vega will play Stella and Wood Harris will play Mitch opposite the previously reported Blair Underwood as Stanley and Nicole Ari Parker as Blanche in a Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire, to premiere in Spring 2012. The production will be directed by Emily Mann, and will feature an original score by Terence Blanchard. Further casting and creative team will be announced at a later date.

Rubin-Vega received Tony Award nominations for her performances in Rent and Anna in the Tropics. Her other stage credits include Les Miserables, The Rocky Horror Show, Blood From a Stone, Jack Goes Boating, and Bernarda Alba.

Harris may be perhaps best known for his portrayal of Avon Barksdale on The Wire. Among his other film and television credits are Above the Rim, Remember the Titans, Southland Tales, House, and Hawaii Five-0, as well as the forthcoming Judge Dredd and The Baby Makers.
