Dancer Gregory Mitchell Dies at 52

Dancer Gregory Mitchell died on November 18 following a heart attack that he suffered while performing in Forbidden Christmas, or the Doctor and the Patient in Washington, D.C. on November 11. He was 52.

Mitchell graduated from the Juilliard School and made his Broadway debut in Merlin. He later appeared in Song and Dance, Dangerous Games, Aspects of Love, the 1992 and 2002 revivals of Man of La Mancha, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Chronicle of a Death Foretold, Chicago, and Steel Pier. He may be seen in the movie version of Chicago and the 1996 film Everyone Says I Love You; his television credits include Law & Order and The Cosby Mysteries.

Mitchell is survived by his wife and two sons. The rest of the tour of Forbidden Christmas, which starred Mikhail Baryshnikov, has been canceled.
