Veteran Broadway producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, alongside Tony-winning director Kenny Leon, will create a new Fox series about the famed Cotton Club, according to Variety.

Cotton Club is described as a "sexy, soap music series" about the historic venue, the legendary black entertainers who worked as performers there, and the gangsters who owned it. Leon will direct and serve as executive producer, with Ayanna Floyd writing and serving as showrunner. Floyd will also executive produce with Zadan and Meron. L.A. Reid is executive music supervisor and executive producer.

A timeline for the show, as well as additional information, is still to be announced.
