Color Purple‘s Kingsley Leggs to Perform at The Triad

Kingsley Leggs, who stars as Mister in the Broadway musical The Color Purple, will perform a special evening of music at 9pm on Monday, August 21 at The Triad (158 West 72nd Street). He will be joined by co-stars Anika Ellis and Maia Nkenge Wilson, as well as Broadway veteran Rhett George, who played Daddy in the recent revival of Sweet Charity.

Leggs, who will be accompanied by piano, bass, drums, and guitar, will perform R&B songs, original music, and a tribute to Sammy Davis, Jr. His musical director will be Jeff Waxman, who worked with Leggs on the Denver production of Almost Heaven.
His other stage credits include the Broadway production and national tour of Miss Saigon, international productions of Ragtime and Forbidden Hollywood, and regional productions of Dreamgirls, The Full Monty, Violet, and Two Gentlemen of Verona.

Other performers who are scheduled to perform at The Triad this month include former Hairspray star and soap opera leading lady Kathy Brier (August 19), Lion King leading man Alton Fitzgerald White (August 20), jazz singer Christine Capdeville (August 24), and Tony Award winner Adriane Lenox (August 28).
