Colman Domingo, John O’Hurley to Play Billy Flynn in Broadway’s Chicago This Summer

Colman Domingo and John O’Hurley will both appear as Billy Flynn in the Broadway production of Chicago, running at the Ambassador Theatre, this summer. Domingo will play the role from June 14 – July 18. O’Hurley will assume the role on July 20 and continue with the production through August 29.

Obie, Lucille Lortel and GLAAD Award winner Domingo’s other credits include Passing Strange on and Off-Broadway, as well as The Scottsboro Boys and A Boy and His Soul at the Vineyard Theatre this past season. This fall, he will reprise his role in The Scottsboro Boys at the Guthrie Theatre and on Broadway.

O’Hurley first appeared on Broadway playing Billy Flynn in the production in 2006, and also played the role in the national tour of the show. In addition, he starred as King Arthur in the Las Vegas and Los Angeles productions of Monty Python’s Spamalot. The performer is perhaps best known for his portrayal of J. Peterman on Seinfeld and from his work on television’s Dancing with the Stars and Family Feud.

Chicago has been directed by Walter Bobbie and choreographed by Ann Reinking. The creative team includes John Lee Beatty (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Scott Lehrer (sound design).

The production also currently stars Ruthie Henshall (Roxie Hart), Terra C. MacLeod (Velma Kelly), Raymond Bokhour (Amos Hart) and Terri White (Matron “Mama” Morton).
