Jonathan Clem, Peter Friedman, Mary McCann, and JoBeth Williams will star in the Atlantic Theater Company’s Stage 2 world premiere production of Annie Baker’s Body Awareness, to run May 28-June 22. The production, which will open officially on June 4, will be directed by Karen Kohlhaas.

The play takes place at bucolic Shirley State College where “Body Awareness Week” goes awry when a male photographer shows up with his passel of pictures of naked women.

The creative team includes Walt Spangler (sets), Bobby Frederick Tilley (costumes), and Anthony Gabriele (sound). Kohlhaas’ directorial credits include 25 Questions for a Jewish Mother, Boston Marriage, and Frame 312.

Clem, a recent graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, is making his professional debut. Friedman’s credits include The Heidi Chronicles, Ragtime, and The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island. McCann has appeared in the Atlantic’s productions of Almost an Evening, Spring Awakening, and The Cherry Orchard. Williams’ stage credits include The Quality of Life and Last Dance.
