Jill Clayburgh, Hamish Linklater, and Luke McFarlane will recreate their original roles in the L.A. Theatre Work’s production of Keith Bunin’s The Busy World Is Hushed, February 7-11. The show will be recorded for future broadcast on LATW’s radio series The Play’s the Thing.

The play focuses on Hannah (Clayburgh), a minister and bible scholar who finds her faith at odds with that of her estranged son, Thomas (MacFarlane). But when Brandt (Linklater), an inquisitive young writer discovers secrets from Hannah’s past, a risky opportunity for reconciliation may be in order. Bunin’s previous plays include The Credeaux Canvas and The World Over.

Clayburgh is currently starring Off-Broadway in The Clean House. Her other recent stage credits include Barefoot in the Park and A Naked Girl on the Appian Way. Her many film credits include An Unmarried Woman, Starting Over, and Running with Scissors.

Linklater’s stage credits include Cyclone, Recent Tragic Events, The Chemistry of Change, and Hamlet. He is also co-starring in the CBS sitcom The New Adventures of Old Christine. MacFarlane has appeared Off-Broadway in Where Do We Live and Juvenilia, and co-stars on the ABC drama Brothers and Sisters.
