Classical Theatre of Harlem Announces 2009 Season

Classical Theatre of Harlem has announced the selections for its 10th Anniversary season.

The company will present Christopher McElroen’s production of Chekhov’s The Three Sisters in February at the Harlem Stage Gatehouse Theatre, followed by Supreme Jealous Divine, Alfred Preisser and Randy Weiner’s free adaptation of Tartuffe in May at Theatre Row, and Preisser’s production of Paul Carter Harrison’s 1974 play The Great MacDaddy in October at a theater still to be announced.

In addition, the company will continue its monthly Future Classic Reading Series at the Schomburg Center for Research in Black Culture, and present a workshop of a stage version of Melvin Peebles’ classic film Sweet Sweetback’s Baadasssss Song at the Apollo Theatre on April 24-25.
