Clark and O’Hara to Take Part in Pre-Performance Piazza Talk

Victoria Clark and Kelli O’Hara will take part in a free pre-performance discussion of The Light in the Piazza on Wednesday, September 21 at 6pm in the lobby of the Vivian Beaumont Theater. This event will kick off the 2005-2006 season of Lincoln Center Theater’s Platform Series.

The Light in the Piazza, which has a score by Adam Guettel and a book by Craig Lucas, is set in Florence, Italy in the 1950s. Clark plays Margaret Johnson, an unhappy housewife from North Carolina; O’Hara plays her mentally challenged daughter, Clara, who falls in love with a young Italian man. The show is based on the acclaimed novella by Elizabeth Spencer.

Clark won the 2005 Tony, Drama Desk, and Outer Critics Circle awards as Best Actress in a Musical for her performance, while O’Hara received Tony and Outer Critics nominations.
The show won a total of six Tony Awards, including Best Score, Best Set Design, Best Costume Design, and Best Orchestrations.
